Origin

Nain is a town in central Iran located 150 kilometres east of Isfahan. In comparison to ancient weaving centres like Kashan, Isfahan, and Yazd, it is a comparatively new addition to the carpet industry. Although it began by creating Isfahan carpets, Nain began to create its own style in the mid-1930s. Due to the great quality of the workshops in the area, very detailed and exact designs were made. Nain rugs are often made with a cotton foundation and a silky wool or wool and silk pile. At least some silk detail may be seen on the majority of Nain rugs.

Rug Description

The majestic inner red field offers a breathtaking contrast with its allover abstract floral motifs. The outer field in ivory is in sync with the central medallion and offers calm harmony to rug's appearance.
• In terms of its grandeur and wool & silk construction, this is a typical Nain rug. The size of the rug is 9.7 x 6.7 feet. Red & ivory are primary colours whereas blue is accent.
• The colours used for the thread are made from natural dyes that are extracted from vegetables.
• PCI count of the rug is 190 x 90. High PCI count indicate towards superior quality of this rug.
